Leading the in-house design program for ActBlue from 2015 through 2023 was both a creative and operational challenge — building a brand and design infrastructure capable of supporting one of the most visible platforms in modern politics. What began as a small visual identity grew into a fully realized, multi-channel design system spanning every corner of the organization.
Over eight years, the depth and breadth of work was extensive. I led design and strategy for internal communications, external marketing campaigns, product launches, and event branding. This included website and microsite design, end-of-quarter fundraising campaigns, and ongoing creative support for presidential and congressional candidates using the platform. I also directed brand consistency across print, digital, and environmental materials — building systems that could scale as new products and initiatives emerged at pace.
Beyond creative output, I developed internal systems and operational frameworks to support ActBlue’s rapid growth — including tabling and conference setups, shipping logistics, vendor and contractor management, and production workflows for promotional materials. These systems ensured brand cohesion and operational efficiency across multiple teams and departments.
The work extended to advertising, video, social media, and ActBlue’s email program, which reached over ten million subscribers. Every element was designed to communicate purpose and accessibility while maintaining a unified, modern aesthetic that reflected ActBlue’s mission of empowering grassroots fundraising.
Over nearly a decade, this work built a resilient and scalable design ecosystem — one that balanced speed with strategy and creative integrity with organizational purpose.
